    It worked like it should - took the pic of the QR code in the Home App and this was running in maybe 90 seconds.

    There's an app and Amazon/Google compatibility as well. It is even supposed to work with Matter - which is a nice plus. Haven't tested any of those issues.

    Says 650 lumens and and 25k hour lifespan. Can't really test those but from the "build quality" - feels about right.

    Well- after not being able to use these in my bedside lamps, I decided to put them in my porch lights. I had a bit of a hard time getting an account set up (apparently the app doesn't like a comcast email), but a verification code later and all was good. Pretty easy to install, and I was able to set them up on a timer. They actually have way more functionality than I initially realized, even using as a sunrise alarm of sorts (circadian setting). If I get new bedside lamps I will do this! Well worth the cost.

    You can use these lights as a standard bulb, or you can change the color, dim, set an on/off timer, and more, all with a voice command to Alexa. Syncing them to music adds an extra ambience when watching concerts on a TV or projector. The price is extremely affordable and they work with most any socket. I experienced no issues with setting them up. Just scan the QR code to download the app and follow the instructions. I feel like one of the Jetsons with these lights (for the older folks). Highly recommended!

    This is my second set of Matter bulbs. I liked the first ones so much I had to get more when I needed recessed light bulbs for ceiling can fixtures.

    Unlike most smart devices, matter bulbs are immediately recognized by Alexa. The others you typically need to set up first in their own app, then Alexa sees it after that.

    With matter, Alexa sees it shortly after you turn it on, asks for the QR code, and connects it right up. This is where it helps to plan ahead. The QR code is printed on the bulb itself, so once you screw it into the fixture you can no longer see it - especially in can mounted ceiling lights! OREIN is nice enough to supply QR codes for each bulb in the direction manual. If it is a multi-pack (mine had 4), of course you need to know which code goes to which bulb before you screw it into the outlet. If you mess up, you can always unscrew it and get the code, but a little advance planning saves time.

    Matter bulbs claim they can be controlled locally even if you are not connected to the internet, but you cannot do that with the Alexa app as she can't do anything when not connected to the web. Matter devices also work across all the major platforms, but of course my review only relates to how they work with Alexa.

    Like all my other smart bulbs, if these lose power, they come back as 'ON' when power is restored, regardless of the state they were in when power went out. They come back in the color and brightness they were last set to when on.
    UPDATE: You can set these in the AiDot app to power up as 'off' if they were off when they lost poser. Cool!

    The rest of the story is these are plain old great smart bulbs, power saving, color for mood or holiday, routines, dimming etc. - Matter just makes them better.

  8. These are some of the best LED lights I've installed.

    They just screw into a regular outlet. You connect via the app and hook it to your WiFi and you are set. What I like about these is you can set them for a good reading light and they are plenty bright OR you can have fun with colors or have them sync up with your music on WiFi. Super cool. They come in a 4 pack which is nice and I would recommend.

    Amazing lights! So many colors to choose from and Matter support made the setup process so easy! Using my iPhone I was able to just add the lights right into HomeKit with the codes provided! No connectivity issues what so ever! Love them so far!
